A Location for a Maternity Photo Session You Wouldn't Expect - West Hartford Connecticut Maternity Photographer

I love thinking outside the box for my on-location lifestyle sessions! A parking garage offers the best backdrop. It can be dressed up like my gorgeous couple here, or even played down with casual, urban vibes.

We started this session inside the parking garage and as the sun started to get softer and set lower in the sky, we made our way up to the rooftop. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is where the magic happens!

Meet Amanda and John, expecting their second baby this May. Amanda first contacted me about doing a warm session in my field location in Farmington, but New England weather had other plans for us (hello snow!). I knew the parking garage would be plowed, so I asked her to trust me, and off we went!

If this family doesn’t make me excited for the 2019 fall family season, I do not know what will! Last week I posted on social media about wardrobe selection and how important it is to y our final images. This family right here listened to my advice and followed the tips in my “what to wear” guide that I send all clients. I just LOVE mom’s romper. So mush so that I ordered myself one too :)

Not only is the color super complimentary to her skin tone, it also is easy to dress the rest of your family. Off the shoulder is ALWAYS a yes for pictures! It’s a flattering fit, she looks super feminine and she felt great in it, which is EVERYTHING for the mom of the family!

How fun this family was. They dressed the part and showed up ready to have some fun.

Clients hire me for the emotion they feel in my images. They are always surprised at how “fun” or even at times, how “chaotic” the session itself can feel. That is because everyone is having FUN.

No one is posing. I am not bribing the kids to look at the camera and smile this fake smile you all know so well. NOPE. I capture those in-between moments instead. The real smiles. The true laughter.

Sometime parent will say, “Are you sure you got anything good"?” To which I reply.. “so many good ones!”

I even had one little girl ask me once,”Do you do this all the time?”. She just thought I was the coolest thing ever (little does she know, hahaha)
