Senior Sessions

Senior year is such a special and important year and investing in a custom photo session is THE best way to document this chapter in your life!

Girls, when you book your senior session with Sweet Melissa Photography, you are in for so much more of an experience than your traditional studio yearbook headshot. Think modern, fresh, playful images that you will look back on in years to come and still see your unique personality shining through.

What’s the process?

Please take the time to read through the investment guide below and decide which session collection you are interested in. When you are ready, click the link below to book your session. From here, I will email you (and your parent/guardian) back. We will work together to find a date and location for your session.

After your session is over, I will hand edit the images and deliver the edited proofs to you in an online gallery. From the gallery, you will download the images and / or purchase any add-on products.

What the heck do I wear?

I always suggest one dressy look and one casual look. The “gucci” and the “slay” collections both include 2 looks. The “basic” only includes one so go for dressy/casual combo.

For your casual look, think jeans, trendy tops, jackets, tanks, layers… Add a bit of personality with cute shoes and trendy jewelry.

For your dressy look, skirts and dresses are the way to go. Long flowy skirts or dresses create movement and add a playful vibe. Maxi dresses, rompers, jumpsuits.. you get the idea! No hard rules on shoes but flips flops are way too casual, even for your casual look. If you choose a heel that is tricky or uncomfortable to walk in, then just be sure to bring a comfy pair along for walking in between spots.

When it comes down to it, you need to wear clothes that you feel comfortable and confident in. Please choose outfits that flatter your body type- clothing that shows off the parts you love and hides places that make you self-conscious. If you have a part of your body you don’t love, or it’s something you always notice in photographs, don’t wear clothes that show it off!

Your outfit choices should be YOU, but just a more polished version of you!

Solid colors are best, and definitely stay away from bright or neon shades. Neutrals always photograph best but once again, wear colors that you love to wear. Popping in some pattern is ok and actually quite fun. So are accessories like a hat or fun jewelry!

Layers are gorgeous and add interest and dimension. For example, a tank or bodysuit with a cute jacket you can take off adds variety!

When in doubt.. Ask! Just shoot me a text with your questions or take pics of your outfits and ask for feedback.

Nails, hair and makeup?

Be sure your nails (hands and feet) are manicured. You don’t need to pay for a manicure at the salon (unless that’s your thing) but please be sure you do not arrive with chipped nail polish. It’s more noticeable in photos than you would think!

Hair and makeup should be polished. Should you get it professionally done for your session? It’s always a good idea but definitely not a requirement! If you don’t usually wear much makeup, you should consider wearing some for your session. It’s not everyday you get your pictures taken so you should treat it as a special occasion.

If you choose to have your makeup professionally done, I recommend Christine Couture Cormier of Farmington!
